On July 22, 2024, the Singapore-Japan Workshop on AI4Science was held at the CREATE Tower in Singapore. Researchers and Admin staff from RIKEN attended the workshop along with other Japanese researchers and government officials to discuss areas of research collaboration with Singaporean counterparts in the field of AI.

On July 2, 2024, the A*STA–RIKEN Joint Workshop “Catalysis and Sustainability” was held at Fusionopolis, in Singapore. This one-day workshop, which was attended by over thirty researchers from RIKEN and Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE）and Institute of Sustainability for Chemicals, Energy and Environment (ISCE2) of Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), was an opportunity to exchange the latest research results and discuss future joint research.

On July 1, 2024, The NTU-RIKEN Joint Workshop “Frontiers of Catalytic Chemistry and Devices” was held at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Thirty-five people, including scientists and students, participated, and there was a lively Q&A session and discussions to deepen future collaboration.

RIKEN started RIKEN Early Career Leaders (ECL) Program in FY 2023 which declares our goal to train the next generation of talented researchers and engineers. The RIKEN ECL program provides two types of positions, Team Leader and Unit Leader, for highly talented junior researchers with no or limited PI experience depending on one’s career stage and research plans. RIKEN has decided to limit this year’s RIKEN ECL Program call to women researchers. This call will be made through the Sechi Kato Program.

RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS)will hold a summer school in September 2024.
This program is designed to provide young researchers in computational science with an opportunity to learn programming techniques for parallel computers and to help them become leaders in the field in the age of Society 5.0. Scientists from R-CCS will provide lectures, and Wisteria/BDEC-01 Odyssey (Wisteria-O/The University of Tokyo) which is Fugaku compatible system will be used for hands-on training.
This program will be provided in English.

RIKEN is currently accepting applications for the FY 2025 Special Postdoctoral Researcher (SPDR) Program, from young, creative, independent researchers who will be a powerful force in furthering RIKEN’s research activities.
